Coaching
Who is coaching meant for?
You’re a professional (or semi pro) photographer, and looking for an intense learning experience? You do your job with great passion and love but you would like to deliver even more meaningful and stronger images? Then this coaching might be just what you’re looking for!
What drives me
I like to help photographers grow, both from an entrepreneurial and artistic point of view. What drives me? The challenge the analysis of your photos and portfolios represents, but also uncovering your talents and habits. We all have our personal strengths and weaknesses, and I'm not afraid to highlight both. So you can further develop your qualities, and work on your personal challenges.
How? Through deep conversations and unfiltered feedback about unedited pictures. The keyword will always be honesty. Through targeted questions, we will determine how to overcome your personal challenges and uncover the drive behind your work. You’d like to enhance your skills? Or turn your weaknesses into real assets? Through us working together you will be able to analyze your work with more confidence, but you will also fill in some theoretical gaps or be able to compensate a certain lack of experience.
Tailor-made approach
The most popular approach is also the most intense: ten one-hour online sessions spread over a period of ten weeks. The highlight of our time together? A real-time photo shoot during which I will accompany you and deliver feedback. During these ten weeks, it is important you shoot at least two photo reports every week. This intensive work will allow you not only to become aware of the things we pinpointed in our conversations but also to acquire new habits. In short, it will help maximize our time together.
I also offer one-time sessions during which we will focus on the subject of your choice. And you can also book me to analyze your website or portfolio.
I signed up for Joshua’s mentoring program in 2018 and I must say it was one of my best decisions of 2018. She was patient, quick to encourage but also firm with her corrections. I particularly loved the fact that she didn’t try to stir me to shoot like her but to develop my own eye and consider things that I had otherwise missed when I shot. By the end of our session I had learned to be less attached to my images, more critical of the choices I made when editing, a little more patient with staying with a scene and more importantly kinder to myself about growing into the documentary genre. A wise investment and a great teacher: what’s not to love?

Joshua is één van de meest toonaangevende (gezins-en huwelijks)
documentairefotografen in België. Heel erg bedankt, Joshua!
